Where do we come from ?
Thus, three generations of professionals have succeeded each other and developed. They have been able to advance their garden concepts over the decades in order to allow their customers to benefit from their exclusive creations.
The key to the success of the company therefore certainly lies in its experience, knowledge and professional skills acquired over the multiple seasons spent in the service of parks and gardens.
This professional heritage and these landscape traditions constitute an important legacy that the company makes every day available to its customers.
Chronology
The company Krebs was founded on July 1, 1937 by Fritz Krebs, a graduate of the horticulture school of Oeschberg. His wife, Marguerite, took care of the administrative tasks. In view of the success obtained, the number of workers increased rapidly to half a dozen, then to twenty.
The construction of Praz-Fleuri in 1948, will not only serve to bring together family, office and depot, but will also serve as a business card appreciated by all, even beyond the borders since they received compliments as far as from Australia for their beautiful floral arrangements.
The famous rhododendron massifs appeared around 1952.
Generations succeed each other
Fresh out of the horticultural school of Châtelaine, from which he graduated in 1961, their son Jean-Claude Krebs perfected his skills in Germany, then worked in the family business from 1963 on.
The new premises and warehouses built in “Champ-Belluet 30” in 1970 will allow the twenty-one workers present at the time to be comfortable.
Jean-Claude Krebs will take over the business alone in 1978.
His son, Stéphane, will complete the horticultural school of Lullier (ex-Châtelaine) from 1988 to 1991 until graduation. He joined the company thereafter and obtained a Federal Patent in 2001. He took over the reins of the family business on January 1, 2005 and successfully completed his Federal Masters in 2007.
The succession is assured
Tanguy Krebs, great-grandson of the founder of the company, trained at the horticulture school of the Center for Professional Nature and Environment Training in Lullier in the canton of Geneva.
He also had the privilege of perfecting his skills for four months in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles under the orders of Mr. Alain Baraton, famous gardener-in-chief of the Grand Parc of the Palace of Versailles, of the Domaine national de Trianon and Domaine National of Marly-le-Roi.
